On the Edge

Class/Design:S2 6.9
Year Built:1986
Designer: Graham & Schlageter

History of the boat:

ON THE EDGE was purchase in 2000 from the Mt.Vernon Yacht Club. It is the pocket version of S2’s popular 7.9 meter, designed to match performance aspects in a reduced size. It is a good all-around club racer/day sailer, with accommodations that make her a weekend cruiser. The proportionally large mainsail and high aspect fractional rig give her acceleration and quickness as well as responsiveness and control in any sailing conditions.

About the owner and crew:

Owner Murat Erol is from Turkey and grew up diving and sailing on the crystal clear waters of eastern Mediterranean. He loves racing and if he is not on the river can likely be found on the Bay racing with Phil or Bob. He dreams of retiring on a big cat and sailing to the Mediterranean.
Philip Horbert has a C&C 115 and races out of West River, MD.
Robert Hughes has a Beneteau 28 and also races out of the West River.
Nate Bokil is a Scow member has years of racing experience.
If Chris Vanhorne is not racing with me or Phil, he is more likely racing his Hobicat.
